Ten Years Down the Drain: The Search for Marcel Duchamp’s Missing Urinal
Bradley Bailey, Associate Professor of Art History at Saint Louis University, talks about one of the most infamous works of art of the twentieth century, Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain, a store-bought urinal that the artist submitted to the first exhibition of the Society of Independent Artists in 1917. In his talk, Bailey explores why such an unusual idea changed the history of art, and shares what he has learned in a decade of chasing a urinal that has been missing for over a century.
