– Josephine Baker, Tina, Turner, Willie Mae Ford Smith, Katherine Dunham, Fontella Bass, Ann Peebles, Maya Angelou –

LAKA performs their tunes, their dance, their poetry – and presents their remarkable lives.

The Midnight CompanyThe Midnight Company is a St. Louis-based enterprise, focusing on new and interesting work for the stage, screen and internet. For a history of past productions under both the Midnight and afterMIDNIGHT banners, visit the Past Productions page. The Midnight Company was founded in 1997 by Joe Hanrahan and David Wassilak. David left the Company in 2007 to help form The St. Louis Actors Studio. Sarah Whitney then joined the Company as Associate Artistic Director, and only recently departed. We wish her well, and as we have with Dave, hope to work with her again. The Company, though officially just Artistic Director and Co-Founder Hanrahan now, has always been comprised of the many individuals who work with us on and offstage, and in the lobby.
